Commonly seen in trucks, the shape of steel plate springs often adopts a symmetrical cross-sectional structure. It is typically composed of multiple spring steel plates with unequal lengths, different curvature radii, and equal or varying thicknesses, stacked together to form a beam-like structure of approximate equal strength. The suspension structure primarily consists of steel plate springs, a central bolt, spring clamps, rolled ears, and bushings.
Trucks typically employ non-independent suspensions with steel plate springs. The central U-bolt connects the axle to the vehicle frame through upper and lower cover plates, while the front rolled ear connects to the bracket using a pin. The rear rolled ear connects to the swinging bracket on the frame using a pin, forming an articulated hinge point. Due to the significant variation in cargo weight for freight vehicles, secondary steel plate spring assemblies are often added above the main assembly to provide additional support based on different loads.
